The total cost of ground transportation for Canadian shippers dropped 2.7% in October compared with September results, according to results released today by the Canadian General Freight Index Index (CGFI).
The Base Rate Index, which excludes the impact of accessorial charges assessed by carriers, decreased 2.1% in the same time frame.
Average Fuel Surcharges assessed by carriers decreased again this month. Fuel was 12.96% of Base Rates in October versus 13.28%in September.
